About this experience
A journey into the untamed heart of Iceland. Landmannalaugar is a geological anomaly—a kaleidoscope of rhyolite mountains, steaming vents, and vast lava fields that feel more Martian than terrestrial.
Accessing this remote interior requires the right machinery. You will travel in our modified Toyota Land Cruiser, purpose-built to navigate the rugged F-roads and unbridged rivers with absolute comfort and capability. Far from the paved Ring Road, this expedition offers true isolation and a profound connection with Iceland’s raw volcanic origins. Itinerary and highlights
Hjálparfoss is a peaceful waterfall where the Fossá and Þjórsá rivers meet, tumbling together from a lava field formed by eruptions of the nearby Hekla volcano. It lies in one of Iceland’s most geologically dynamic regions. Just downstream, its waters help power Iceland’s second-largest hydroelectric dam.
Hnausapollur crater lake also known as Blahylur was formed during an immense volcanic eruption in 871, just a few years before Iceland's first settlers reportedly arrived.
Landmannalaugar, located in Iceland’s central highlands, is known for its strikingly colorful rhyolite mountains and natural hot springs. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking through rugged terrain, soaking in warm streams, and discovering lava fields and obsidian formations. It's a favorite starting point for trekkers, especially those heading out on the famous Laugavegur trail to Þórsmörk.
PS: Do not forget your swimsuits!
The hidden gem Sigöldugljúfur, sometimes called the Valley of Tears. It has earned its nickname from the incredible number of waterfalls. Sigöldugljúfur is a fantasy-like space and is known for its many waterfalls, blue water, lavish vegetation, lava landscapes; and its emerging surroundings.
